Travel Insurance Over 77 News

New research from LV= travel insurance suggest that almost one half of UK holidaymakers now book online but nearly one in twelve make mistakes when doing so.

Almost a quarter of respondents who admitted to slip-ups had booked flights on the wrong date and a similar number used the wrong name, making these the most common online booking blunders.

Other mistakes include selecting the wrong departure airport (8%), forgetting to buy a return ticket (9%) or buying two tickets in the same direction when they intended to buy a round trip (5%).

When it comes to booking a place to stay, the findings are no better with one in six of those who made an online error booking accommodation on the wrong dates and one in twelve securing rooms in the wrong hotel.
